Life can be tough, especially when we’re dealing with multiple health challenges that weaken our bodies. Perhaps the hardest part is the thought that if our condition worsens, we might lose our lives someday.
That’s a painful and honest reality, isn’t it?
But here’s the question: How honest is this reality?
The good news is that the power to overcome challenges lies within us. It’s free, always available, and it starts in our minds.
What do I mean?
Humans tend to respond more to how we feel and to what our bodies tell us. Our bodies are constantly sending signals to our minds, which is something like an involuntary action.
So, what’s the opposite of involuntary? Voluntary.
To overcome involuntary negative thoughts, we need to take voluntary action. While our bodies may flood our minds with fear or pain, we have the power to intentionally choose positivity.
And that simple act, speaking positively to ourselves, can be incredibly powerful, even if it feels difficult when we’re suffering.
Does speaking positively change your situation?
In the short term, no. But in the long term, yes, it absolutely can.
Let’s borrow an example from nature.
“When you plant a seed, it doesn’t sprout and bear fruit overnight. It takes time to germinate. Even though you can’t see what’s happening beneath the surface, something is happening. Eventually, that seed grows into a shoot, and then a tree.”
Between planting and growth, there is TIME.
And during that time, patience is everything.
Not all seeds sprout on their own. Some need fertiliser, sunlight, regular watering, and the right environment. The same applies to our thoughts.
Staying positive might require help, engaging with positive people, watching uplifting content, and surrounding ourselves with encouragement. Some people need more support, others less.
But with consistency, Growth Happens.
And even if we don’t always see results in our lifetime (yes, that’s hard to accept), the good news is: being positive improves our quality of life.
Healing begins with connection.
Sharing our struggles with trusted, positive people can help us heal.
When we lack the will or strength to stay positive, our support network can carry us, speaking words of life and hope over our situation.
In all situations, choose positive words.
Because even if things aren’t perfect now, with positivity, they can only get better.
